Growing up in a home shaped by two artists, Blake began his creative journey at an early age. At thirteen, he first introduced to glassblowing at the Pratt Art Institute, guided by his father, a production potter who instilled in him a deep appreciation for classical vessels. His mother, a painter, immersed him in a world of color and whimsy, nurturing a playful curiosity that continues to inform his work.

Inspired by these early influences, Blake pursued formal training at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned his BFA. His career has since taken him around the world, working with artists in places like Switzerland, Italy, London, New York, expanding not only his artistic skillset but also his understanding of what it means to live a creative life.

Ultimately, Blake returned to his hometown of Bellingham, Washington, drawn by a deep-rooted sense of home and the desire to share the same creative foundation with his own child, and in turn his community. In his studio, he continues to explore ideas, honoring the teachings of his two earliest mentors—his parents—while forging a voice uniquely his own.
