Sculptural Works

Fragile Tendencies
Mold blown glass, string
Obsessed with strength while overwhelmed with fragility, this piece flirts with the ephemeral state of the human body.
Apple picker and a glass blower.
Wood, solid sculpted and assembled glass
A portrait of my father and myself, based on the story he once told me about making his own ladders when he picked apples. The wood ladder standing at his height and the glass ladder standing at my height.
Hereditary Typography
Enameled and fused glass
Simplified line drawings of every male face that I had a photograph of in my family that came before me. A rough typography that fuses our lineage together overlapping our physical traits.
In the shadow of wisdom
Cast bronze, cast glass, hickory handles
Aware that the wisdom my grandfather possessed, after a lifetime of working in the factory that had been built for generations, wouldn’t be available for much longer. I embarked on a series of works that aimed at preserving his teachings, while turning his physical presence into precious functional objects. His tired weathered hands cast in bronze and welded into hammers able once again to strike with real impact. While my hands cast in a pure clear glass stand behind his hoping to refract his lessons outward.
Distorted reflections
Mirrorized blown glass, steel tripod, found Kodak camera lens
Meant to capture and distort, this hand made functional camera was one in a series of works, that altered images and bent light in an uncontrolled manor.
Nomadic Industries
Steel, glass, Douglas Fir roots.
An Homage to the industry and the people that honed their skills and went where necessary to cultivate and refine them.
